How to create a new payment method

A single Point of Sale (POS) system can support multiple payment methods, enhancing flexibility and convenience for both businesses and customers. By integrating various payment options such as credit and debit cards, mobile wallets, and contactless payments, merchants can cater to diverse customer preferences. This versatility not only improves the customer experience but also helps businesses increase sales and customer satisfaction.


How to create a new payment method


To implement a new payment method, the following actions should be taken:

  1. open Point of Sale module;
  2. click on the Configurations tab;
  3. in the list select the Payment Methods option;
  4. in the new window click on the New button.

     In the newly opened window fill in the following fields:

  1. Method - provide a name for the new payment method;
  2. Online Payment - mark this checkbox if this payment method is valid for online payment;
  3. Journal - set up a journal to which entries will be added once the payment is processed;
  4. Intermediary Accounts -  If left empty, the default account from the company settings will be used. This field overrides the company's receivable account utilized in journal entries for Point of Sale transactions.

Once the details have been adjusted, use the Save button to save the data.

The last step is to add a newly created payment method to a specific PoS. For this, follow these steps:

  1. open Point of Sale module;
  2. click on the Configurations tab;
  3. in the list select the Settings option;
  4. in the new window select the desired Point of Sale;
  5. scroll down to the Payment section;
  6. in the Payment Methods field add the newly created payment method;
  7. save changes.
