Automatic logout

This feature is the automatic logout function for Point of Sale (POS) systems. This feature ensures that cashiers and staff are automatically logged out after a predetermined period of inactivity, safeguarding sensitive customer and transaction data from unauthorized access. By minimizing the risk of data breaches and streamlining the user experience, the automatic logout feature not only protects businesses but also fosters a more secure and efficient checkout process.

Auto Logout settings

To enable the logout option, please adhere to the following instructions:

1. go to the 'Point of Sale' module;
2. click on the 'Configuration' tab;
3. select the 'Settings' from the menu;
4. scroll down to the 'PoS Interface' section;
5. enable the 'Auto Logout' checkbox;
6. define the logout time in the 'Timeout Period' field in seconds.

Auto Logout workflow during POS session  

When the feature is enabled and the POS session is active, the system will alert the user about impending logout 15 seconds prior to the inactivity timeout. To interrupt it, click on the 'Ok' button.                                   

If there is no user activity within 15 seconds, the system will automatically log out the user, and a new login window will be displayed for selecting a user and logging back into the system.
